Memoranda: How Great Thou Art, Powder Blue Jacket / by Adam Horn

Is band costume important?

It is when it's a powder blue jacket.

What message does the powder blue jacket send? As opposed to, say, the black leather jacket, the oversized khaki blazer, or the turquoise jumpsuit?

It’s an open question. But it might have something to do with a certain audacity of color, balanced by a softness of shade—and then a whole lot of dressed-up respect for the gospel.

The jacket is, at least, less sexy than the jump suit. Or is it?
